Small worlds make me happy
So I just finished this book by a way cool girl. You wanna hear the story?? About the way cool girl...not just the book. Though I'll talk about the book too.
You see...I'm going to be a part of an indie author convention next year in Charleston: Indie Girl Con (You should come. I'm going to be signing books and stuff. It's going to be epic.) Well...I noticed a fellow indie author attending that went to the SAME high school I did in California. So I messaged her, totally recognized her and it turns out we were in the same choir together in middle school! Small world! Well I'm blogging about her because I just finished her book and really loved it!
First off I fell in love with the cover. Of course I did...we share the same cover designer: OKAY CREATIONS. I won't lie to you. I was a little nervous that I wouldn't like it or that it wouldn't live up to the hype and reviews that I'd read on Goodreads, but it did! Promise Me This is a New Adult book that was a breathe of fresh air. Charlie was likeable and sweet and strong. And don't even get me started on Jhett. LOVED him. LOVED. And it brought me back to my roots in CA.
I wouldn't necessarily recommend it for young adults, but it was a sweet/heartbreaking romance with a refreshing ending. Some people say it's a cliffhanger, but I think it's the perfect set up for book 2: Promise Me Forever. Though I'm excited for more Charlie and Jhett, I would have been completely content with this ending.
You're awesome, Sarah Ashley! Can't wait to see what else you put out there!
