On June 18, 1992, Flight 397 crashed off the coast of Long Island.

After Amber Pratt lost her parents, her life turned into a downward spiral. So, she did what any twenty-one-year-old would do; she quit her life to backpack across Europe.

Olle Holström was supposed to be a fling in the wilds of Finland. A detour. That is all it should have been.

It was so much more.

Olle pulls my chair out. Always a gentleman. “Thank you.”
“Ole hyvä,” he says close to my ear, his hand brushing my bare shoulder as he takes the seat next to mine. Not across, the way he did during our meal at the fortress Monday.
Everything about this night feels different. Important. Shaking the meaning of our date away, I look at the menu the hostess left. English. Well, that’s a relief. I scoot forward in my seat and peruse the offerings. My leg bouncing on the toe of my fancy shoes with nerves.
“I imagine this might not be politically correct here, but I have to tell you I’ll be mildly irritated if you order the reindeer.”
He chuckles. “You do not eat deer in the States?”
“Deer, yes. Rudolph, no.”
His shoulders shake with suppressed laughter. “It is not much different, but for you, okei.”

The Faylinn Novels Cover Redo Reveal

One night I was browsing through Regina Wamba's images on Facebook. For those of you that don't know who she is, she's an INCREDIBLE cover designer who owns Mae I Design and Photography. When I was going through her photos I came across an image and thought, "THAT. That is Calliope. That needs to be Luminary's cover." And from there I knew I had to make the change and redo the Faylinn covers. This wasn't something I look lightly. I'd been thinking about redoing the cover for months and months. I'd heard from friends who worked with Regina how incredible she was to work with. Not to mention the fact that I've always admired Regina's work. Seeing the image for Luminary kind of just solidified it for me. And now I can tell you from personal experience, Regina really is as great as everyone says she is. I think she truly captured the essence of every Faylinn book. I hope you'll love them as much as I do!

Nickoli’s arms were laden with weapons when he came back into view. He stepped in, uninvited, and opened his arms; allowing each deadly piece to drop to the ground with an ear-splitting clang. I jumped back as the items ricocheted across the floor, and a club rolled to a stop by my feet.

Nickoli bent over and picked up a sword. He approached me, a menacing look on his face, and a flash of terror tore through me. The temptation to scream was strong, however I knew it wouldn’t do me any good. If his intention was to kill me, the deed would be long done before my cries for help would be answered. If they

ever answered. I kept my focus on the sharp tip of the sword as he advanced on me.

He raised the sword, gripped the hilt in his fist, and hurled it into the floor at my feet. The tip embedded into the wood with a

I yelped in surprise and jumped back. With an angry glare, he turned to storm out of the room; leaving the pile of weapons scattered about the floor.

“I don’t know how to fight with a sword,” I called out, my voice void of the angry bluster it carried earlier.

He didn’t stop, but instead replied over his shoulder as his long strides carried him out the door. “Then

you best learn how.”

The slam of his door signaled the end to our conversation.

cover reveals, Me After You, Me After You excerpt

I Tease You

I know y'all probably were overloaded with the Me After You cover yesterday. Or maybe that was just me! But let's look at it again...

*Sigh* I honestly could look at it all day...

If all goes as planned Me After You will be available in eBook on November 22, 2013! And hopefully shortly after that I'll have it in paperback. Woot woot!

Okay now to the good stuff cuz it's Tuesday and Tuesdays deserve a TEASER!

***REMINDER: It's unedited.***

Warning: Scene contains violence

Bile rises in my throat. It didn’t occur to me that he would actually try something. We’re not in some dark alley. We’re off Main Street, but he’s not deterred. “If you even dare try, I promise you’ll regret it.”

“I doubt that.” His hands grab my wrists, locking them behind my back before shoving me back against the brick building. It’s so quick I don’t get a chance to scream before his tongue invades my mouth. The jagged bricks stab my arms and the more I attempt to break them free the harder he pushes and the deeper the brick digs into my skin. One of his hands moves to my chin to hold it still, keeping me from trashing from side to side. I try to lift a knee, but his body is flush against mine, leaving no room for leverage.

Tears pierce my eyes as I cry into his mouth. He takes my desperate pleas as encouragement and begins feeling his way up my shirt. Each inch that his fingers crawl, the more intense the fear swells in my chest. This is really happening to me. And then he’s gone.

I exhale and open my eyes to see someone throw a punch across his jaw. He doubles over and whoever threw the punch uprights him, holding him by the throat.

“If I ever, ever see you near Sawyer again I swear I will end you, Josh.”

I know that voice. I know that voice like I know my own.

"Oh c’mon, Dean. We were just getting reacquainted.” Josh smirks with blood dripping from his lip. “She liked it. Didn’t you hear her moans?”

Dean punches him again, knocking his head to the other side. “Don’t give me that load of bull.” His voice is seething as he attempts to remain calm. “You don’t touch her.”

“Why do you care? She’s not yours. She’s free game now. Didn’t you hear that her husband got whacked?”

Dean punches Josh again so hard his head snaps to the side and hangs. Dean lowers his voice to a deadly calm level. “I’m going to give you one more chance to shut your mouth and walk away because we’re old friends and you’re drunk, but if you so much as think of touching Sawyer again I’ll kill you. I swear on my life, Josh… I will end yours.”

Josh lifts his head weakly and raises his hands in mock surrender. He spits blood. “Geez, Dean. I was leaving anyway,” he slurs.

Dean stands rigid with his back to me as he watches Josh stumble down the sidewalk. When he turns and sees me, his stone face softens. He relaxes his jaw and swallows. “You okay?”

I nod, but the tears are spilling down my cheeks. I don’t know why I’m crying. He reaches for me and I don’t protest when he pulls me into his arms. In his arms, I feel safe. I feel protected. I forget that I hate him so much.

Me After You Cover Reveal

I've been waiting for this day for weeks! As soon as I got the cover back for Me After You I wanted to share it with the world, but I used some patience(what little of it that I have). My cover designer hit it right on the nose. I didn't have to ask her to change a single thing about it. I love it so much.

I know many of you have been a little dismayed with what book I'm releasing next.  Your third book isn't going to be Faylinn #3?! WHAT??? Trust me. You're not the only one who was thrown. When Sawyer and Dean came to me I pleaded with them. I've got another book to write, guys. You have to wait your turn. I don't have time for an entirely new story. But they didn't care, and once you read Me After You I hope you don't care either.

Today, with the help of some wonderful friends and bloggers, you'll get the first look at the cover of Me After You. YAY!

Okay, I'll stop rambling. You can go to any of these blogs to see the cover:

Ember Cover Reveal...Whaaaaat

Yes! I love it. I love it so much I could marry it. I know Kaleidoscope isn't even out, but the cover was done and I'm too impatient to keep it to myself! And BONUS, now I have something for more inspiration while writing Ember. Sarah really does wonders. I'll never let anyone else touch my covers but her! If I have it my way Ember will be in your hands by June 2013. Let's hope things go my way this time!
In case you're curious about Kaleidoscope, if all goes as planned it will be available no later than the beginning of March. Cross your fingers with me people that it will be ready before that! I'm so ready for everyone to read it already and fall in love with the characters as much as I have! (Though I don't think that's really possible. I'm pretty in love.)
Now let me introduce you to Ember.

You can stare at it for a little bit. I have. It's so pretty.

cover reveals, kaleidoscope

Okay. So nearly everyone that I've talked to about Kaleidoscope has wanted to know about getting a paperback. So, I began looking into the process of putting it on paper and I learned it was going to require a lot more work than I was prepared for(when it came to full cover designs and such). So I decided to turn it over to the professionals. It was the most logical choice. I found Okay Creations through another indie(now traditionally published) author, Colleen Hoover, and I pretty much fell in love with every cover she designed. So I shot her an email and within 2 days she turned Kaleidoscope's cover into so much more than I had imagined. I love it. I'm in love. Thank you, Sarah! It's pretty much perfect.
